I had a mixed experience during my stay. While the location had beautiful views and the hotel was generally clean, the rooms left much to be desired, especially in terms of upkeep. The check-in process was disorganized, leading to some frustrating moments, but the staff tried to be accommodating. The dining experience was satisfactory, but improvements could be made regarding the food quality and service.

Rooms
5.0
The first room was outdated and badly needed refurbishment, while the second room offered a better experience but still felt tired. I appreciated that I had direct access to an outside patio area, making it convenient for our dog.
Service
6.0
The service was hit or miss; while some staff members were polite, the reception process was confusing and embarrassing at times.
Location
8.0
The location is great, surrounded by beautiful scenery and perfect for exploring the area.
Dining
7.0
Dining was decent, but I did find the food quality varied - some meals were delicious, but others lacked attention.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had some decent facilities, although the pool area could use better upkeep.

I had a relaxing break in the Lakes, but I did experience a few hiccups during my stay. The hotel is comfortable and has a nice atmosphere, but there were issues with the drainage in the shower and some service inconsistencies during dining. Breakfast was mostly good, though I had a concerning experience with an item on the made-to-order menu. Overall, it's a decent place but could use some improvements.

Rooms
7.0
The room was nice and comfortable, though it showed signs of age.
Service

The service was spotty at times; while some staff were excellent, others struggled with coordination.

Dining

Breakfast had a good variety, but watch out for the menu items as my experience with the poached eggs was alarming.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were generally clean but the parking was quite crowded, making it difficult to find a space.

6.8/10

I had a lovely stay at this hotel, and while there were a few hiccups, the overall experience was enjoyable. The staff were fantastic and really made my visit special. However, I was a bit disappointed with the spa experience, as it became crowded with families during my relaxation time. There were also some issues with dinner allowances that felt limiting. Overall, it was a good experience but could use a few improvements to elevate the stay further.

Rooms
7.0
The room was comfortable and the four-poster bed was a nice touch, but it made quite a bit of noise. The view was great, even though the curtains were coming off the rail and didn't cover the window completely.
Service
9.0
The staff were wonderful and attentive, always ready to help out with any issues.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located in a nice area, but it's a bit of a drive to find other dining options if you're looking to eat out.
Dining
6.0
The dinner was decent, but with a £30 allowance, it felt restrictive for the price. Breakfast could use some variety, though the sausages were a highlight.
Facilities
5.0
The spa was initially relaxing but lost its charm when families arrived, making it feel more like a leisure center than a serene escape.

The location is perfect for exploring scenic walks, and the dining experience was top-notch. My room had lovely views of the River Leven, making it quite special. Unfortunately, I also came across a contrasting experience with another hotel that fell short of expectations, particularly due to cleanliness issues and a lack of good service.
